THE HOME DUO

Hi team, its Jamie and Soph here!

We both have an endearing passion for design, architecture, interiors, love to work hard and never settle for less than perfect.

This is a space for us to share a detailed version of our renovation journey, turning tired homes into stunning spaces - all while aiming to do as much of the work ourselves!

We first started ‘The Home Duo’ as we both were itching to put our energy into a project. When we brought the house Jamie was about to jet off to the Olympics and I had just stopping playing hockey for the NZ Black Sticks Women’s team, this project has been so rewarding and great fun so far! It has been tough, challenged us, there have been many laughs, late nights and we lost the plot more than a few times that’s for sure! We have amazing families and friends who play huge roles in this and so far we’ve loved every second of it.

We wanted to show people that it is possible to transform a space that needs a lot (a lot…) of work into something beautiful and aesthetically pleasing right down to the finest details. One of my favourite sayings my mum always said about us is we have ‘Champagne taste on a Beer Budget’. Well we are here to prove that you can indeed create a classic high end ‘champagne’ like home on a beer budget – watch this space!

We pride ourselves on the amount of time we spend researching each and every product we put into our home. From the kitchen tap to the bathroom tiles, the floor lamp to the shower head, the artwork to the small decor and especially the brands we align ourselves with - who by the way are fantastic, we are so lucky!!
